The End of Times El fin de los tiempos
Directed by Bibiana Rojas Gómez, Juan David CárdenasColombia 2026
Runtime 80'
Salomé reviews decades of family videos to understand her mother’s sadness. In this search, she uncovers a past marked by exploitation and historical violence in Colombia and Latin America. By using artificial intelligence to imagine a less terrible world, she discovers that it is easier for us to conceive the end of the world than the end of capitalism.

Bibiana Rojas Gómez (1989) and Juan David Cárdenas (1979) have focused on blending audiovisual essay, fiction, and experimental documentary with archival material. The Sound of Crickets (2022) combined these elements to strong reception, especially in Latin American exhibition spaces. The End of Times involves the same variables while adding an exploration of A.I.. Their main interest aligns with what they have termed “audiovisual anarchivism,” a practice that uses archival material in a free and experimental way to fictionalize the past in order to make the conception of alternative futures possible.
