Granchità Crabkind
Directed by Anaïs Landriscina, Chiara ToffolettoItaly 2026
Runtime 17'
The discovery of an audiovisual archive reveals traces of a marine biologist who mysteriously disappeared in the Po Delta. Between footage, documents, and an encounter with a strange local girl, light is shed on the research the biologist was conducting on the blue crab: a scientific investigation slowly expanding into a meditation on change, on adaptability, and on the delicate boundary between human and animal. What if her disappearance were a culmination of the very research she was conducting?

Anaïs Landriscina (1999) and Chiara Toffoletto (1997) are two filmmakers based in Milan. Both with a background in documentary, they ended up following different creative paths, bound by an interest in audiovisual research and experimentation. In 2024, they developed the screenplay for Canto di vongola, which was shortlisted at Milano Film Network’s In Progress programme and received an AAMOD Award. From the intersection of their visions comes a cinema that weaves together observation, irony, and transformation.
